Oxford Business News is an independent publication about online learning and education technology. Our goal is simple: help learners everywhere choose the right platforms, tools and setup to study effectively — wherever they happen to be.

What we cover

We test and compare online course platforms (Coursera, edX, Udemy and more), study and productivity tools, AI learning assistants, and the practical side of studying online — including how to keep your courses and lectures reachable when you travel or study abroad.

How we compare products

Our VPN and tool comparisons are built from each provider's published specifications and documentation — prices, server counts, device limits, protocols, logging policies and independent audits — combined with our editorial assessment of value for online learners. Ratings reflect that assessment across four weighted factors: access to learning platforms, speed, price and devices, and privacy.

We have not independently lab-tested every provider from every country. Where we say a product "supports" or "documents" a feature, that reflects the provider's stated specifications and public audits, which you can verify yourself during a money-back trial. We keep figures current and show a "checked" date on our comparison data.
